My First Solo Dance Award

No words can describe how thrilled I am upon hearing the great news of winning an award at the 58th Schools Dance Festival for my school!
This is my first time to represent my school to perform a solo Chinese classical dance at the competition. The biggest difficulty I faced is a lack of venue for dance practice due to the closure of sports centres and dance studios under the government’s social distancing policy. This led to my second difficulty: I felt extremely nervous as I did not think I was ready for it. Luckily, with the school’s support like subsidy for my application fee for this competition, different help offered by the staff responsible for dance, venue, audio and video filming, and my schoolmate’s help for my makeup, I finally won a prize for my school!
I am very grateful for the support and encouragement of my school principal and my teacher to allow a shy girl like me to step out of her comfort zone! No matter how timid you are, be daring and try something new!
